Panther Creek Estates residents voted YES for the Pool Expansion project at the Homeowners Association meeting last night (10/19/2010). The Pool expansion project discussions began 4 years ago when residents began to realize that the pool area is far too small to serve a community of just over 1,000 homes. The Pool Expansion project will keep the existing big/adult pool in tact and the smaller kiddie pool area will become three times larger than its existing size. A beach-entry into the kiddie pool area will be included as part of this expansion project. The pool area will be larger, thus the current fenced area will be enlarged as part of this project.

Now that the votes are in, the Panther Creek Estates HOA board members will begin finalizing and approving the Pool Expansion project.

The Pool expansion project will most likely be awarded to Gold Medal Pools, a locally-owned Frisco TX pool company. During the evaluation sessions, the Panther Creek Estates HOA Board interviewed 3 pool companies and found that Gold Medal Pools best suits Panther Creek Estates' needs and budget.

Several ideas were tossed around too, prior to deciding to present current Panther Creek Estates homeowners with a Pool Expansion idea. Some of the ideas were to build a second pool area and possibly with a Clubhouse at a different location, or even a Splash Park. The cost of a 2nd pool alone with having to purchase at least 4 residential lots from the Developer would easily cost over $750,000 - $1 Million. Hence, with the wisdom of Panther Creek Estates HOA board members, they decided that expanding the current pool area will best fit our residents' needs and budget.

This Pool Expansion project will cost approximately $200,000. However, $225,000 will be budgeted for the project just in case of any unforeseen construction issues that may occur during the process. $150,000 of the total costs will be paid by the cash reserves. The remaining costs will be assessed and paid by each individual homeowner at Panther Creek Estates. The invoice will be out in January 2011 where each homeowner will pay a $55 one-time pool assessment to help fund this project.

This Pool Expansion is a much needed project for Panther Creek Estates. Panther Creek Estates remains to be one of the most desirable neighborhoods in Frisco TX. However, the pool at its current size is too small. Panther Creek Estates HOA board members do a good job in providing ideas to continuously making Panther Creek Estates one of the most beautiful community here in Frisco.

Now that the Pool Expansion project is voted in, construction will probably begin in January/ February 2011. It is planned to be opened on May 1 2011 when the Pool Season opens for next year.
